On February 4, 2008 friends and supporters gathered at the Lane Powell law firm to celebrate and raise funds for the UW School of Law/Northwest Immigrant Rights Project Immigration Clinic.

Matt Adams of NWIRP, Signe Dortsch the clinic director and law dean Greg Hicks welcomed everyone to the event. Participants also heard a powerful client story, a stirring keynote by Rep. Jim McDermott, witnessed beautiful dancing by Bailadores de Bronce and heard from student speakers -- present and past! With so much need in the community and with the growing support of donors this project will hopefully soon become a permanent fixture of the law school.
