NWIRP'S 24th Annual Gala, 13 Sept. 2008 : The Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) promotes justice for low-income immigrants by pursuing and defending their legal status. The focus is on providing direct legal services, supported by education and public policy work.

NWIRP's legal services are critical to helping thousands of immigrants and refugees in Washington State navigate the complexities of the United States immigration system so they can apply for asylum or other forms of relief from deportation. Without appropriate legal assistance, the men, women and children served by NWIRP may be less likely to obtain legal immigration status, and more likely to be returned to a country where they face poverty, ill treatment, torture, or even death. Offices are in Seattle, Tacoma, Granger and Moses Lake in Washington.

This year's event was held at the Westin hotel. For more about NWIRP see: http://nwirp.org/Home.aspx
